A good floor starts below the surface. Before we lay anything we check:
The subfloor
It needs to be flat, dry and sound. Uneven floors can cause gaps and lifting edges.
The old flooring
Removing old carpet or flooring can reveal damage that needs repair first.
Doors and trims
Doors may need trimming to clear a new floor, and skirting may need adjusting.
Underlay
The right underlay helps with comfort, sound and moisture.
Room layout
We plan where the boards or tiles start so cuts at the edges look neat.
Floors that need preparation take longer and cost more. We tell you before we start, not halfway through. Preparation, lifting old flooring and furniture moving are quoted separately from fitting where needed.

You buy the flooring and underlay and we fit it. Please order a little extra, usually around 10 per cent, to allow for cuts and waste.
Supply and fit
We can help you choose and order the flooring and underlay, and fit it.
Whichever you choose, we agree in writing what is included, so there are no surprises. Please let new flooring settle in the room before fitting if the manufacturer says so.

Most single rooms take about a day. Larger areas, levelling, removing old flooring and patterned layouts such as herringbone take longer. We give you a start date and an estimate in your quote.
